Sohra Nohkalikai

Nohkalikai Falls, located near the town of Sohra (Cherrapunji) in the Indian state of Meghalaya, is one of the tallest plunge waterfalls in India, with a height of about 340 meters (1,115 feet). The falls are fed by the rainwater collected on the summit of the relatively small plateau and drop into a pool with unusual green-colored water. The name “Nohkalikai” translates to “Jump of Ka Likai” in the local Khasi language, referencing a tragic legend associated with the falls.
